For sometime I have wanted to make a single communication on our journey out of Doha and movements in coming weeks
Background
Out of a total of around 28 years of job, one of my best period was at VOLTAMP Oman and Qatar. Like all good things, however, it had to come to an end and I planned a move over somewhere in April – May 2008. Jobs at senior level are few and far in between and you don’t find them just because you want them. My focus was India or Middle East. Out of the various offers that came by the one that excited me was the CEO of a Cable Manufacturing Company in Mumbai. The experience was, to say the least, disgusting at the end. Details of what happened were posted by me on LinkedIn in the shape of a question. A good trait with me is that I don’t take much time to rise back, dust off the disgust and start all over again with renewed energy. Within three months, from almost a casual conversation, I landed a job offer which is ten times better. The company is 500 times bigger, the compensation package almost twice and the challenge is something that I would really enjoy.
The Schedules
I will be posting details of the company at a slightly date since its confidential at this stage. This post is more from the point of view of informing all extended family and friends of the schedules at one single place rather than making individual mails, CCs and BCCs. Here is the schedule as planned on date:
Sept 9th:
Leave Doha for Delhi. Here, besides meeting up with family, I intend catching up with some old friends from L&T and / or my college.
Sept 15th
Go to Jammu since its like ages since we went there. Besides meeting with family, I intend visiting the Migrant Camps for a couple of days and see how we can be of some assistance to the needy. In case the law and order situation doesn’t permit, we may skip this leg of the travel and proceed directly to Pune as below.
Sept 19th (or so)
Go to Pune and spend time at our home. This is also the period when we will be praying / consoling ourselves for the blackest tragedy that struck the family two years back.
Sept 24th
Mumbai – where we will be spending time Mongas, Wuthoos and Kalhan. We also intend to spend some time with our Kashmiri friends.
Sept 30th
I will be flying out of Mumbai in the wee hours to the city where I join up my next job. Babli will join me a few days later and will in the mean time go back to Delhi and spend some more time with Arina there.
This is the plan as of date and could change. The left over days are rather few and we have so many tings to finish up and pack.
